Our Story
We are a married couple — Adrienn and Ábel Bartolich — and the founders of Bartoart. We landed on Malta, this tiny gem in the heart of the Mediterranean, on a warm September afternoon back in 2013. Escaping from the grey, endless winters of Northern Europe, we felt our minds and souls exhale in relief as we absorbed the island’s warmth and sunlight — something these shores are blessed with more than 300 days a year.
It wasn’t our first encounter with the Mediterranean, but this time it felt different. This time, we knew we had arrived somewhere we were always meant to be.
Of course, starting a new life from scratch was not without challenges. Moving into an empty home with nothing but two suitcases — and barely enough savings to cover one month’s rent — tested our faith, perseverance, and love. We focused on what truly mattered and drew closer to each other, to God, and to Nature.
Step by step, brick by brick, we built our new life — finding friendships, work, a sofa for the living room, a favourite fisherman to buy from, and countless small joys along the way.
Through this journey we learned, from experience, the irreplaceable value of a simple and slow lifestyle. That pace — calm and steady, guided by light and sea breeze — opened the way to creativity. Creating became a necessity for our souls. And it is here, on these sun-bathed, wind-swept islands, that our artworks were born: jewellery and prints inspired by nature, made with our hands, and filled with meaning.
Our Way Back to Nature
We believe that art is more than decoration — it’s a bridge. A bridge between people and the living world that surrounds us.
We live in times where the rhythm of life has become too fast — where screens replace horizons and the sound of waves fades beneath the noise. Yet somewhere inside, a quiet voice keeps calling us back: back to the scent of the sea, the texture of earth, the heartbeat of trees.
Every piece we create is our answer to that call. Each pendant, each print, each brushstroke is a small reminder that we belong to something vast and beautiful — nature itself.
Made slowly by hand in our artisan studio in Malta, our works carry the memory of wind, salt, and sunlight. We hope that when you wear them or hang them in your home, they bring you a sense of stillness — a moment of reconnection.
Because when we return to nature, we return to ourselves.

My Creative Passion
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been deeply fascinated by the natural world and its endless forms of beauty. My journey as an artist has been shaped by a love for crafting jewellery that tells a story — pieces that connect the wearer to nature in a subtle, personal way.
I work with cactus fibre, sea glass, brass, and copper — materials that carry both rawness and grace. Each design is inspired by organic shapes, from leaves and waves to shells and corals. My goal is not just to create adornments, but to craft small reminders of presence and connection, bringing a touch of the extraordinary into everyday life.

My Artistic Journey
From a young age, I’ve been passionate about the arts, particularly traditional handcraft techniques that combine timeless beauty with intricate detail. The copper etching technique holds a special place in my heart, allowing me to transfer the fine lines of hand-drawn sketches onto copper plates and then onto paper. This process merges traditional and modern methods, making each print a unique work of art. I hand-sign each piece, creating limited editions that are cherished by collectors. My commitment to detail and craftsmanship is reflected in every artwork I create, aiming to inspire and bring joy to all who encounter them.
